Darren took the helm of Metallix in early 2024, bringing with him a passion for strengthening Australian manufacturing. His vision is to transform Metallix into a globally competitive Smart Manufacturing Organisation. Darren’s leadership is grounded in trust and a commitment to the MADE. EASY. philosophy. When not at work, Darren enjoys spending time with family and friends, particularly over a good whisky.

Saskia, who joined Metallix a year ago, is the backbone of the admin and marketing functions. Her experience in high-paced operations has made her indispensable, handling everything from payroll to supplier management with ease. Saskia enjoys creating top-class food and drink experiences and staying active, often entertaining friends in her free time.

A 13-year veteran at Metallix, Matt is a powerhouse in the workshop, known for his exceptional welding and fabrication skills, particularly with aluminium and stainless steel. Trained by Paul, Matt takes pride in producing top-quality results and thrives on the challenges that each new project brings. Outside of work, Matt is a family man who loves off-roading and camping.

Greg brings a diverse background to Metallix, with experience in carpentry, concrete construction, and real estate. Since joining the team seven years ago, Greg has become a key player in production assembly, valuing the team camaraderie and the variety of work. Greg’s off-hours are spent enjoying red wine, socialising, following live music, and taking his jet ski out during the warmer months.

With 17 years at Metallix, Simon is the go-to expert for complex sheet metal fabrication projects. His attention to detail and mastery of every process—from design to finished product—ensure that every piece is crafted to perfection. Simon thrives on turning customer ideas into reality, particularly enjoying the satisfaction of client compliments. When he’s not fabricating, Simon enjoys camping and riding his motorbikes in the bush.

With a background in building nuclear submarines and performing specialist welding on oil rigs, Paul Mason brought his world-class expertise to Australia in 1994. Founding Metallix in 2005, Paul has grown the company into a 34-member strong team, focusing on high-quality OEM fabrication. Paul’s passion lies in tig-welding aluminium and stainless steel, and he’s known for setting the pace and leading by example. Outside of work, Paul enjoys a top-shelf whisky and spending quality time with his family.
